The Astor Community Theatre has faced the pandemic by striving to provide our public with a limited season of film screenings as part of our popular Astor Picture House programme. We were also able to present a limited number of live performances and classes, all strictly following government guidelines for public spaces to protect from the spread of COVID-19.

The impact of COVID-19 is a critical threat to the Astor and to the livelihoods of all those who work in the arts. All our operating income comes from people like you coming to see our performances and spending money in our bar. Without these performances the vast majority of our income disappears.

Where possible, we strived to provide a safe space for our audience to enjoy a limited number of attendees at film screenings, live shows and classes. Currently, due to 2nd national lockdown under which we are all operating, we are unable to safely and legally provide those services.

We are determined to survive this crisis, but to retain our dedicated team and to get our shows back on track as soon as possible we need your help urgently.

We have already received a humbling level of support from the public and we are grateful to each and every person who has been able to contribute. If you wish to support us financially while we steer a course through this difficult time then you will find a link to contribute below.

The Astor Community Theatre is a Community Interest Company and any donation – large or small – will ensure that your theatre stays thriving long after this crisis is past.

The Astor’s future is at risk

Will you help us survive?
