The Astor Theatre, Deal
This year’s festival comes to an end with a day-long celebration of local music-making
at Deal’s gem of a community theatre. Two talented Kent singer-songwriters will be appearing: Clea Llewellyn kicks off the day with a lively, interactive concert for children and their carers and Izzy Woodland plays indie-folk originals, joined by Joe Mulroe for some melodic covers.
The day showcases the talents of local musicians, many of whom take part in our year-round Learning & Participation programme including DMA’s Community Band, with the best of intergenerational music-making. Our Young Artist in Association Xiaowen Shang’s work with young musicians will be on display in the afternoon’s uplifting Young Person’s Showcase. Deal musicians who have been working on ground breaking new works in collaboration with the award-winning Irene Taylor Trust in the run up to the Festival, will perform during the afternoon. The day ends with the presentation of the Tony Nandi ARPS Photographic Award for young photographers.
Please note: your ticket is valid all day and there is a bar to enjoy at the Astor. You’re welcome to come for as much of this day as you wish.
