Bassist, band leader and co-founder of Tomorrow’s Warriors, Gary Crosby OBE leads his quintet in a celebration of the life, music, and impact of one of the most iconic jazz innovators of all time, Miles Davis. Gary will be delving deep into the ground-breaking musical approach that were the hallmarks of Davies’ formidable Second Great Quintet between 1964 and 1968. In the year that marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miles Davis, Gary’s extraordinary quintet will be joined by Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist and BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year finalist Klara Devlin on trumpet.

First on the programme tonight is DMA’s own Creative Jazz Orchestra under their director Joe Browne. This intergenerational band meets regularly in Deal experimenting with improvisation, funk and groove. Their set includes a new piece created during workshops with Axel Kaner-Lidstrom, the Musical Director of Tomorrow’s Warriors’ Big Band.

Please note: The evening starts with a support act at 6.45pm. There will then be a short break before the main act starts at 7.30pm.
