Sewage: Definitely Not A Musical is a political comedy about how sewage spills and the water shortage impact a family who rely on tourism on the Kent coast. The play is narrated by Joseph Bazalgette and James Newlands, pioneering engineers, who built sewers in London and Liverpool, to improve public health and increase life expectancy which was just 19 in some areas. The play is framed partly as a fairy tale with a wicked empress selling off the water to the water kings, only for our water and sewer systems to once again become a public health hazard. Expect some silly songs and some mild swearing.
