The Astor Community Theatre has cautiously reopened to the public for a limited season of film screenings as part of our popular Astor Picture House programme. We also are able to present a limited number of live performances and classes, all strictly following government guidelines for public spaces to protect from the spread of COVID-19.

The impact of COVID-19 is a critical threat to the Astor and to the livelihoods of all those who work in the arts. All our operating income comes from people like you coming to see our performances and spending money in our bar. Without these performances the vast majority of our income disappears.

Happily, we believe that we can now provide a safe space for a limited number of attendees at film screenings, but we do not believe it is practical or responsible to stage live shows or hold classes when people’s lives are at risk. Please bear with us, as we continue to contact ticket holders for cancelled or postponed shows. Anyone with tickets for a postponed or cancelled performance will be entitled to exchange for a future performance or a refund.

However, we are determined to survive, to retain our dedicated team and to get our shows back on track as soon as possible so we need your help urgently.

We have already received a humbling level of support from the public and we are grateful to each and every person who has been able to contribute. If you wish to support us financially while we steer a course through this difficult time then you will find a link to contribute below.

The Astor Community Theatre is a Community Interest Company and any donation – large or small – will ensure that your theatre stays thriving long after this crisis is past.
